Shortly after opening, La Bohème in Munich faced a major challenge: an ongoing construction site in front of the restaurant made it nearly impossible to attract walk-in guests. Traditional foot traffic was out of the question — a completely new marketing approach was needed.

Strategic Repositioning, High-End Events & Influencer Marketing for a True City Hotspot

Markus Mensch and his team stepped in to develop a tailored strategy that repositioned La Bohème not just as a restaurant, but as a lifestyle destination. In close collaboration with the owner, the food & beverage concept and opening hours were optimized to better suit the target clientele and city dynamics.

One of the key innovations was the introduction of “Champagne in the City,” a recurring afterwork event series that attracted Munich’s stylish crowd and local professionals. This was followed by the launch of a brunch concept that went on to be named one of the best in the city — a true milestone in redefining the brand’s weekend offering.

At the core of the marketing strategy was influencer marketing, which played a decisive role in making La Bohème one of Munich’s go-to venues. Carefully selected VIP and media contacts were invited to experience the brand, resulting in sustained press coverage and features on radio and TV. A stream of high-visibility PR campaigns ensured the restaurant stayed in the public eye.

In parallel, we implemented strong in-house marketing measures to boost guest retention and daily revenue — from menu presentation to on-site signage and table touchpoints. Regular press events were hosted to maintain buzz and ensure consistent media presence.
